Nunavut

Nunavut province is the largest among the three federal territories in Canada. Located in the northernmost part of the country, the territory consists of a significant portion of the Northern part of Canada & the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. Having a large territory size, Nunavut province is considered the largest territory in the North American continent. Iqaluit is the capital of Nunavut province.
Even though having large areas, Nunavut is one of the most remote, sparsely settled regions in the world. Having a population of 31,906 out of which most of them are Inuits. The territory is home to Alert in the northernmost part which is the permanently inhabited place in the world. Nunavut is known for its mining, oil gas mineral exploration, arts & crafts, hunting, fishing, tourism, & educational facilities.
When it comes to transportation, air & sea routes are the only possible ways to get in & out of the territory. Therefore, traversing between Nunavut communities is usually done by aircraft or cruise ship. However, in some cases, the areas can be reached by snowmobile, dogsled expedition or powerboat. Due to this, dogsledding, camping and hiking, canoeing, kayaking are some of the major tourist attractions in the region.
